hi all, new member curious if anybody recalls the salvage tender 'SALVEDA' based in - I think Canning Dock during and post ww2 - and owned or operated by the Liverpool & Glasgow Salvage Company, visited it once as a young teenager.

From Michigan, a warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia.
Good to have you onboard.
To start things off, here's a decent picture of the 'Salveda'.
Other members will almost certainly be adding details.

Hi

My father, Gwilym Williams, was Chief Engineer on the Salveda from 1943 to about 1950. During the war he witnessed all 3 major european marine landings: the 2 in the Italian campaign and of course Normandy. Interesting to hear that you visited this vessel as a teenager. I did, but as a very small child and can hardly remember it.

Best wishes

Gwil Williams
