Here is a photo I took along time ago of the London Viscount when it was been fitted out at A&P in Sunderland.
It was a cold November night I recall

Just to let you know the spec's on this photo.
It was take with a Zenith EM 35 MM Camera ( yes on a tripod )
The film was colour reversal 100 ASA (Slide film ) and contacted back and enlarged
Exposue was around 1min 45 seconds with F16 setting on the lens.

No my brother worked for A&P remember, Sunderland was one of the biggest ship building towns in the world.
My brother was a Shipwright for Bartrams & A&P.
I can remember going to the south dock to pick him up from Bartrams after work god I am showing my age now and I am only 52 now!!.
hell the good day's are gone now!!
Bartrams was the only shipyard to launch in to the north sea.

Thanks Flyer. Just wondered.

London & Overseas Freighters, owners of Austin Pickersgill by that time, put on a private train to take all the bigwigs from London to Sunderland for a big bunfight after her fitting out. Pretty sure they did the same for her sistership, London Earl. I believe they booked the band from the Titanic to play at the events. Sadly both ships only survived with the company for a couple of years.
