Retriter
Hi, I'm an old guy who sailed in the 50s "before the mast" in ships such as the Delphic (S.S. and A.), Port Jackson and Port Vindex, Highland Chieftain, Largs Bay, Pardo, F. T. Everard abd others. I immigrated to Canada in 1957 and, after various false starts, wound up working in newspapers.

After retirement as an editor in 2001, I began research on H.M.S. Jervis Bay with a view to writing a book about her heroic, sacrificial action on 5 Nov., 1940. Unfortunately, someone else had the same idea and beat me to it. However, I remain fascinated by the subject and correspond with others who share my interest.

I sailed on the maiden voyage of the F.T. Everard and would be interested indeed to hear from anyone who sailed on her and who knows of her ultimate fate.
