Smiths Docks - Arthur Morley 1889 - 1974

My uncle was foreman in the boiler making section of smiths docks between the wars. He used to wear a bowler hat apparently.

There is a family story of an explosion with a ship's boiler and my uncle not leaving until he got all his crew out. As a result he suffered quite bad injuries and spent a long time in North Ormesby Hospital.

His name was Arthur Morley and he lived in Heath Terrace North Ormesby. Born in 1889 he died in 1974.

I've advertised in the Eve Gazette and Internet but no replies. Any help at all appreciated.
Regards.
Graham Morley

Welcome aboard from East Yorkshire, Graham.
There may be someone in the crew who remembers your uncle.
Meanwhile find your way around the ship and enjoy the voyage.
