My father was on the SS Lornaston 4 Jul 1940 to 22 Apr 1941 as a gunlayer. That is all I know, where can I get a photo of the ship ?
Which other ships were your father on ?

Hey Arthur. I noticed that the date of frankduke's post was 30 June 2009 and that he has posted only one message. I think it may mean that he hasn't been around since.

I'll be corrected if others think I'm talking Nonsense!! (Hippy)

You should get other responses - the experiences of these guys go back a LONG way!

my father died in 1996,he was a donkey man on the ss lornaston on the 8/3/1945 when she was sank by u275,the torpedo hit the rudder and the prop he told me that the shaft was still turning and hitting the side of the ship, all the members of the crew got off safe, the hip sank a day before my mothers birthday.

Hi frankduke! Sometimes it's just good to find out that I'm wrong. This is one of those times - I thought you were long gone! (Thumb)
