As a new member allow me to thank the webmaster for the warm welcome.
The main reason why I joined is to get information on the present status or history of a vessel with the name "Senator Wessels" GY248.

It seems as if the vessel is named after my late farther who was a senator in the South African parliament. Could there possibly be a connection ?

Any info would be appreciated

Welcome aboard from northern East Yorkshire, Wessie.
Since your post is your first and falls between ship research and fishing vessels I have moved it into the say hello forum for a better response.
I'm sure someone in the crew will be able to help.
Meanwhile find your way around our ship and have a good voyage.
