stoks bay grounding early 90s.

hi im steve,posted a few replys on here today, actually only just joined today lol im in costa del gosport next to portsmouth and was wondering if anyone had any info on what ship grounded of stokes bay in the early 90s it was on the local news,its been bugging me for years many thanks steve

Yeah it was the Ex Matco Avon I was Bosun there just before it was sold and the delivery crew grounded it!

cheers for that pic i remember we were living in the married quarters at the time then seen it on meridian news then had a look,i was probably bout that boys age in the pic or slighty younger. it was really strange seeing such a big ship so close up!
