Horseshoe route

Hello, this is shipbroker from Sydney. I recently sailed on board James Craig (barque blt 1874) from Sydney to Hobart and return. We got home on Wednesday.
Does anybody know if mail was carried by sea from S Africa to Australia during WW2. My cousin is heavily involved in philatelic matters concerning the "horseshoe route" and asked if I knew - I don't

Cheers

Hi Shipbroker Doubt there was a regular sea mail connection to south africa.
i think there was a weekly catalina connection between Perth & Colombo.
