Spike Hi Spike, I was there in 1952 on the Esso Syracuse which although Panamanian flag was joint articles and I was sent by Dock St Pool london. It was my first time in Japan and had a great couple of days in Sasebo and recall going home with the teaset which was a regular seamans buy. We were on a long trip about eleven months and it was by far the best port of all.
