Hello everyone my name is Alan (BUNGY) Williams. i live in Newport South Wales. I joined the 5000ton S.S.Sunrise.Which was registered under a Costa Rican flag.It was a real rust bucket, but being only just 16 Idid'nt know any better that was in 1957. in 1958 i joined the R.N. Those were the days.

Welcome to this great site, sorry to hear your left our great Navy to join the "Grey Funnel Fleet", but as you are a member of the Williams Clan, and a son of Wales. I greet you!.

Born and bred in Swansea, entered Merchant Navy in 1950
with Shaw Savill Lines, as an Elect.Engr., served on following ships :-

Doric, Dominion Monarch, Wairangi, Taranaki, Gothic, Waiwera, Suevic. Then joined British Phosphate Commission, 1955, serving on Triaster, Triadic, settled ashore in Melbourne Australia, late 1959, and am still here.
