Two cruise liners

Passing Royal Albert dock today, July 27th, i saw two cruise liners tied up. One is Fred Olsen Lines "Braemar" and the other one has the name. Gemini on the funnel. Not sure if this is the vessels name or the cruise line. Presumably this has something to do with the Olympics judging by the hordes of police present. Are they being used for accomodation? Just hope i dont have to go to North Woolwich next week.

Both these cruise ships are indeed in London for the Olympics. Gemini is the actual name of the ship. She belongs to Quail Cruises. She was built in 1992 as Crown Jewel, then having several names, Superstar Gemini being on of them, and operated by Cunard 1993 to 1995 as Cunard Crown Jewel. She is 19,093gt. Braemar is being chartered by LOCOG as accommodation for Olympic workers.

Further information is that Gemini is up for sale or charter, her Spanish operator going bust in 2011. Quail Cruises operated under the trademark Happy Cruises. Also in port at West India Quay is the lovely Deutschland being home to the German Olympic committee.
