Welcome Rod. Enjoy the site. I was with SSA from 1972 to 1974 as a Deck Officer. I was on Icenic, Cretic, Northern Star, Langstone, Megantic and Cotswold Prince.

On behalf of the SN Moderating Team, a warm welcome aboard from the Isle of Anglesey - we guarantee you will thoroughly enjoy the SN experience!
You will certainly spark many happy memories when you have a chance to explore our threads and, who knows, you may even re-establish contact with old shipmates.

Hi Chris
see you live in Napier, lucky man. When we were on Illyric maiden voyage in 1960 we called Napier and Captain Milne made the local paper and radio station as he had been on officer on Taranaki during the earthquake , he was still a hero

Greetings and welcome as well,
Between the years 1969 to 1976 I had good times on the Laurentic - Saracen / Langstone / Britannic / Northern Star / Majestic / Carnatic / Cymric / Ocean Monarch / Suevic and Illyric

3rd and 2nd Mate positions.

Enjoyed the SSA re-union last year in Nottingham with my bride who was a nurse on the Ocean Monarch.

Hi Chris

Can I interest you in Shaw Savill Society ~ and our Reunion in Hamilton in April 2014 ~ its never too late to join ~ even though we have been active almost 25 years in NZ. In fact we have had several reunions at Kennedy Park over the years ~ and may opt for it again in the future.
Cheers Jamie
