Hi All, I was in the merchant navy from 1958-1964, my ships
Treworlas, Egyptian, Stirling Castle, Lancastrian,St Merriel,Andalusian,Jalasilton hall. Baltic trader,Palacio, Baltic Exporter, Alsatia,Cattaro,Verdaguer, Durham Trader, and finaly the Duke of Mistra, cheers Bilge Bill

Thanks for the reply, i was on her july 62, looking in my discharge book, a very short trip 22 days round the coast, 4 on 4 off as i recall, regards Bill

Hi Robert,
it was tough, but we were young, only in port for a few hours and away again. I think that was why i was glad to get back eep sea again. back toa company that was great fun, Mc Andrews, transpoting wine and port from the Med, happy days eh Bill

When were you on Alsatia Bill ? I see I was on her as 2/Stwd from June 59 to July 6
1, getting promoted to C/S half way through that period/

I was on her June 62, only did the one trip, Montreal and Quebec, so long ago now i can hardly recall it regards Bill

Hi! Bill, I was on the "Stirling Castle" on deck in October 1962 for one trip thankfully. Didn't like the atmosphere on her. Preferred the London "Castle" ships to the Southampton ones.
