John,

On behalf of the SN Moderators, a warm welcome aboard from the Isle of Anglesey - we guarantee you will thoroughly enjoy the SN experience!
You will certainly spark many happy memories when you have a chance to explore our threads and, who knows, you may even re-establish contact with old shipmates.
Good luck! (Thumb)

Welcome to this great site John,
Before the container age cargo ships averaged a ten days turnround in port...
Boxes arrived!! A few hours turnround in port and crews reduced.
I worked as a rigger and we employed 60 to 70 riggers for working on cargo ships.......Container ships reduced it to 30 riggers..
