Hi, joined because of my family connection to Grimsby Fishing vessels I have just started researching my family history, and the main occupation of course is fishermen. My family hails from West Hartlepool, Hull & Grimsby. A reference to HMS Pekin brought me here as my Great Uncle Joseph Bartle served on her in WW1. Nice to be a part of this group Cheers (Pint) Laurie

Hi Laurie, welcome from another newbie! I've started researching the WW1 record of my wife's grandfather, who lived in Grimsby. His service record also has him based at Pekin, which I think was an RN shore base at Grimsby.
