Maritime Pioneer General Cargo Ship

Hello, having just joined ships nostalgia I was very pleased to find a photograph of the Maritime Pioneer. I worked on this ship in the mid 70's in Swansea Dry Dock. The ship came in with very serious bow damage, and apparently had collided with another ship that sunk. I would like to know was this true? And I'd so where did the collision occur?

Would this be the Maritime Pioneer (HK) launched in 1966?
