Hi to everyone.
Found this (as you do) whilst looking for something else. So here I am.
Served as BP engineer apprentice between 1961-66, first trip on the British Engineer, some time with Offshore Marine on the Pathetic (sorry that was the Pacific Shore) and the Bass Shore out of Yarmouth in '74 then gave it all up to work ashore.(EEK)
Loved the Engineer (HP turbine blew up in Hamburg), brought the Pacific back on one engine, no radar, hand steering and a garden water pump acting as the fuel pump which caught fire every hour or so. Happy days.
Retired in 2005.

Mike,
A warm welcome to Ships Nostalgia where I hope you'll find much of interest. There's quite a large ex BP crowd on here so you might bump into some old shipmates and the gallery is certainly worth a look too.
