Thanks for the welcome. I was a steel fabricator and only worked directly on ship building for two years on aluminum catamaran ferries which was a disaster. Only two of the vessels of the three went into service for a short time.
Most work was building dock work such as structures for pilings and fenders for ferries coming in. Locally they unload and load as many as 2000 passengers plus vehicles in less than 30 minutes for runs to Vancouver Island.
Grain, coal and sulphur are the common bulk shipments. .. and of course the container traffic.
