Hello, I am Janet Jaguar, and I'm joining to find out ship and boat histories as we run across them in the RN and USCG and US Navy ships we are transcribing. This looks like a fun and useful site. :)

Janet,

On behalf of the SN Moderators, a warm welcome aboard from the Isle of Anglesey.
You will thoroughly enjoy the SN experience and, since you share common interests with many of our members, you will also undoubtedly be exchanging messages before long. (Thumb)

Could you tell me which forum to use for questions like the one listed? An editor of a log transcription is trying to find the history of a 1920 tug "Pincher". I'd like to ask if anyone knows where to look to get that tug's builder and launch date, etc.

Janet

We have a Tug forum here https://www.shipsnostalgia.com/forumdisplay.php?f=289

Hopefully, someone will be able to help with the information you are seeking.

Would you like to either transcribe or edit transcriptions from American ships going many places, including frequent visits to Alaska? Included is the cutter Bear. :)
