jeb,

A warm welcome to SN from Anglesey.
There is every chance that you will meet old shipmates on this site.
So, have a good look round and join in the banter as much as possible.
Beware, it is addictive! (Thumb)

Come on Pal, spill the beans. the majority of us appear to be over 21 and most (like me ) are over the big 6 0 , so do`nt be shy we`re all on tender hooks. Go for it.[=P] Also a big welcome to the site.

Yes we did take her to Gydnia, and it was the Salamanca 1953. I have a photo taken at anchor in the Thames waiting for the Royal Yacht Brittania to pass up the Thames returning from her maiden voyage, with both of us plus most of the crew standing on the poop watching her pass.

Thanks for the update ... I have those photos... we missed the tide having to
anchor and unable to continue upriver until "Britannia" had passed. In 1960 the
"Britannia" tied up immediately ahead of us, ss"Scholar" in Port of Spain, Trinidad, on Princess Margaret's honeymoon cruise. On the "Salamanca" we had to have an East German Pilot take us through the Baltic mine fields... oh happy days!
