The carrier is HMS Indomitable, the date is March 1952. But ,who are the cruisers? My theory is Glasgow and Gambia, can this be confirmed or otherwise?

Hello,

Assuming the date is correct then this will be Glasgow astern of Indomitable

The cruiser further away is HMS Superb (although there is a small possibility it could be Swiftsure). There are a number of reasons: 1) There are no rafts hanging from the sides of the forward superstructure b) The forward superstructure doesn't include a hangar c) Shape of the bridge front and projections on the side d) The secondary directors appear of the later type with 275 nacelles which would mean its Superb. (However, if the director is of the earlier type then it could be Swiftsure but, from what I can make out, the director's radar looks more like 275 and it is. Superb. Sadly the ships' movements are not conclusive as they both appear to have been at Malta at this period as part of the regular Home Fleet Spring exercises.
