The cabin was intended to be the Pilot's Cabin. Behind the wheelhouse, next to Radio Room. Far too handy for the Mate to find work for you! Hand basin, WC out on the landing for the Bridge. Shower.... two decks lower.

Looks pretty upscale to me! I remember the berthing areas on the schoolship with bunks 3 high and the head and showers up in the forecastle. Sitting on the throne next to your classmates in a heavy sea could be quite a ride!

LOL! . Built '69 and I came on in late '71. First cadet on the ship. No special accommodation so I was put in the Pilot's Cabin. Never used for that purpose so I was safe. She was only 30,000 dwt.
