Weir Direct Acting Feed Pump on display in Clyde Union Head Office (Formerly Weir Pumps). According to the information label it was removed from a hospital after many years of service. The shuttle valve casing is remarkably free of "Hammer Rash"

Hi Duncan.....The apprenices in the Repair Dept stripped it down, castings were blast and repainted - The levers and the columns were Chrome plated......When it arrived....having been bought through Ebay...we had to send it for decontamination.....why....it was loaded with Asbestos....Joints...gaskets....insulation...The only thing it is missing is a drip tray.
However what did not happen was that air hose connection and the exhaust bend - used for testing....were not removed before painting in that hideous grey paint instead of the original green
the reason I know all this is that I was there at the time....working
