Hello Harry, it is a good photo but are sure about the date 1970, the plane wing in your photo has upturned wing tips (winglet) and I thought that they did
not appear till the late 1970's.............

aye,a bit further south or a couple of thousand miles further to the east Neil, you could well be right there Frank, I should have googled, the old memory and computer files are not what they used to be.

The date of the photo is obviously wrong for two reasons.

1) The Willis Tower, the former Sears Tower is clearly seen in the photo as being complete. Construction of the tower commenced in June1970 with the tower being finally completed in September 1973. The overview of Chicago with the skycrapers looks to be far later than 1970.

2) ''Raked winglets'' such as the type seen on the aircraft's wing did not appear on aircraft until the mid 1980's.
