Would be grateful if any 'Halifax' long time 'locals' could advise if the Queen Victoria hospital is still operational
~ unintentional pun ~ and where the cargo ship berths of the '50s and '60s would be if indeed they are actually 'in' this picture.

The first one is HMCS 'Annapolis', a destroyer, DDE 265, commissioned April 1963.

Inboard of her, possibly but not sure, HMCS 'Ottawa', HMCS 'Fraser', or similar

Kind Regards

HMCS Cape Scott (ARE101) behind the DDH's. Her presence dates the photograph prior to 1977/78 as she paid off in 1975 and was towed away for scrap in 1978. There is also a gate vessel, HMCS Porte St Jean or Porte St Louis, in the background, as well as the experimental anti-submarine hydrofoil HMCS Bras d'Or on the other side of the syncrolift (the white building at the head of the lift is where maintenance work takes place). She was laid up after trials 1971-6 before the project was finally cancelled.
