Possibly going to the Chilean Navy, along with sister Ship HMAS Melbourne after they both decommission shortly?

Not sure Nige. Havn't heard of their destiny yet. Perhaps diving sites, however the way things are in the Straits of Hormuz/Gulf of Oman, we may need to hang on to them !!!

You might be right about the Gulf TJ, especially with so many of the Anzacs currently being modernised or undergoing maintenance. I counted five either up-on-the-hard or alongside here in Henderson WA in the last few weeks. Not sure if there are any over at Stirling.
There are a lot of bad Players in action in the Gulf currently, let us hope it does not kick-off.

I have read that the Chileans are also looking at two Dutch M Class Frigates as an alternative to the two RAN FFGs. They are very keen to replace three Ships in their current Fleet. Two ex-Dutch L Class Frigates, and their Fleet Flagship, the Type 22 ex-HMS Sheffield.
You would have to say the Dutch option would be their preferred, since they already have two of those Ships, so Crew Training and In-Life-Support would be far easier than starting afresh with an entirely different Class.
We will see.
