While she still had lifeboats forward and not only those inflateable rafts that are now becoming mandatory. It may mean increased safety, but it takes away something from veteran ships, be they steamers or sail carriers.

I had the opportunity to see this ship up close at Cadiz during the 1990s. She was in absolutely immaculate condition; everything varnished or polished to perfection. I don't believe I ever saw a more ship-shape ship.

Her owners, whose logo she now carries on her fore lower topsail, can probably afford her upkeep. It is the city of Oslo, and through it the Norwegian state. And they have splashed out a lot of money on prestigious buildings in Oslo lately. Operas, art galleries, political institutions of every kind are now housed according to high international standards. The central bank even having golden pissoirs to impress any visitors from Frankfurt.
Note her royal “split flag”. Ships flying this are either carrying Norwegian mail, or else the owners are members of the Norwegian Royal Yacht Club. That she should carry mail is unlikely, and being a member of the aforementioned club does demand that you keep some standards. (Something that her crews cannot always have been seen to do – in lack of future sailors to train she has often been crewed by problem-youth in need of cooperative spirit.
