The additional information is greatly appreciated BillH especially as the name of the ''Sydney Tug'' is clearly evident on the tug in question but I guess having '' a couple of lady friends, three married children and seven grandchildren '' the photographer in question was '' simply to busy '' to add any further information to the photo he actually took!

Two things that I have learnt from this unfortunate thread:

1. I now know what SL stands for but that raised another question as there is a tug (SL Daintree) here in Melbourne sailing under Svitzer colours.
2. I also now know that there is commercial agreement between Smit-Lamnalco and Svitzer in Melbourne governing both commercial and operational aspects of their Melbourne tugs.

I have to admit that I prefer the colours on SL Fitzroy. Probably because they are different!

Peter Dixon`s views of Sydney Harbour are fine with me. This allows other members of SN to "join in" and give informative comments.

The photos of Sydney usually from a ferry or a harbour location area of passing maritime traffic .I keep the photos in my collection but dont spend time researching them I only post a very small number here and provide what the site asks If members ask a question I would hope provide an answer ,but in addition welcome positive comments ,people can use the net for any other info they may need.I don't have the time to do that my self .

Today I was out with a friend in the blue mountains with a lady with my camera looking at the magnificent views from lookouts ,having a great day and enjoying Sydney at its best .The harbor is just one small part of this incredible part or the world.
