Comben Longstaff's 1958 Groningen built WORCESTERBROOK is seen passing Hoek van Holland, outbound from Rotterdam, on 13th July 1970. She was soon to be lengthened.

Later: 1972 ELLEN B. - 75 ADAMASTOS - 77 SPARTAKOS

She caught fire on 19.4.79 and was beached near Tenes, Algeria, during a ballast voyage from Algiers to Oran.

Malcolm, you have both the Frans Gorthon and the Worcesterbrook as "She caught fire on 19.4.79 and was beached near Tenes, Algeria, during a ballast voyage from Algiers to Oran".

I am presuming that it was only one of them..................

28.10.1957: Launched by Scheepswerf "Gideon" v/h J. Koster, Groningen, (Yard No.239) for the Williamstown Shipping Company Ltd., (Comben Longstaff & Company Ltd. managers), London.
1.1958: Completed.
1.1967: Sold to Comben Longstaff & Company Ltd., London.
1970: Lengthened.
11.1972: Sold to Chesham Shipping Ltd., (Briggs Shipbrokers & Agents Ltd., managers), London and renamed ELLEN B.
1975: Sold to Adamastos Shipping Company Ltd., Cyprus and renamed ADAMASTOS.
1976: Good Faith Shipping Company S.A., appointed as managers.
1977: Sold to Bellantona Lines Company Ltd., Cyprus and renamed SPARTAKOS.
1978: Eurafrican Sealink Corp., appointed as managers.
19.4.1979: Whilst on a ballast voyage from Algiers to Oran, suffered an engine room fire, was beached at a position 36.54 N., 00.16 E. and abandoned as a total loss.
