Built 1940 by Ailsa Shipbuilding Co. Ltd., Troon, UK (YN 430) as EMPRESS QUEEN for the P. & A. Campbell & Co

Dimensions: Length (oa) 85.9 metres x Beam 11.5 metres
Machinery: 4 Steam turbines Single Reduction geared to two screw shafts (Engines built by: Harland & Wolff Ltd., Belfast)

History
1940: April completed as EMPRESS QUEEN : P. & A. Campbell & Co., Bristol
1940: October On completion and after trials in July, requisitioned by the Admiralty for the Royal Navy and converted into an Anti-Aircraft ship for the River Thames area.
Armament
1940: 4 2 pdr AA guns (4 x 1) , 16 0.303 AA guns (4 x 4), 5 0.5 AA guns (5 x 1), 2 0.303 AA machine guns (2 x 1), 4 3 rocket projectors (4 x 1)
1941: Three of the Bolton and Paul quadruple turrets and the machine guns were replaced by 5 20mm AA guns (5 x 1)

1941: Renamed HMS QUEEN EAGLE
1943: Returned to owners for Ministry of War Transport as a troopship and reverted to her original name EMPRESS QUEEN
1946: Returned to her owners control
1947: June Arrived Bristol after a refit at Ailsa Shipbuilding Co. Ltd
1952: Laid up
1955: Sold to Kavounides Shipping Co Ltd, Greece and renamed PHILIPPOS
1959: Re-engined as motor ship, 2SA, 2x8cyl (365 x 475mm) Manufactured by Crossley Bros., Manchester.
1972: 23 February badly damaged by fire and beached at Keratsini near Piraeus
1972: 6 March refloated
1974: Broken up at Lavrion shipyard.
