The MOLDANGER was nearing completion at the NDSM yard when she was hit by a major fire causing a massive damage. After ample considerations it was decided to repair the ship. The engines were removed at the Verschure yard at Amsterdam and she was then towed back to the building yard in dock 3, as seen on this photo.

Main Engine : AEG Hesselman. 2T Double Action 7-Cyl (720 x 1.200mm) - 6.700 bhp / 115 rpm.
Aux.Engine : 3 x 100 kw.
Aux.Boiler : Donkey Boiler.
Ref.Machinery :
2 x 3-Cyl Sabroe NH3 Compressors.Indirect Evaporation.Capacity.Capacity 230.000 kcal/h and -15 °C in 4 Freeze Rooms.
1 x 2-Cyl Sabroe NH3 Compressor.Indirect Evaoration.Capacity 75.000 kcal/time og 0,5 °C in 1 Refrigeration Room.

1932 Came on fire 15/07 capsized and sank 25/07 during pumping out water. Raised and repaired.
1932 Delivered in March.
1940 Due to WWII Nortraship became managers from April.
1942 Torpedoed and sunk 27/06 by the German submarine U 404 (Korvettenkapitän Otto von Bülow) in position 38.03N-70.52W (abt. 252 East of Virginia Beach, VA, USA) whilst on a voyage from Buenos Aires Argentina to New York NY USA with general cargo including hides, tallow, wool and vegetable oil.14 of the 44 men crew died.Of the survivors was 15 taken up 07/07 by " HMCS BUCTOUCHE 6 " was taken up 15/07 by " USS PC-495 " and landed the same day at Cape May, New Jersey, NJ, USA and the last 9 was taken up 14/08 by Norwegian MS " WASHINGTON EXPRESS.
