1918 Built as LAKE BENBOW at Detroit SB. Co., Wyandotte, Mich., USA for U. S. Shipping Board, Detroit, Mich. Keel laid 24th April, launched 4th July, delivered 31st July (97 building days). Allocated to the New York & Porto Rico Steamship Company for Atlantic coastwise service.
1925 Sold to Ford Motor Corp., Detroit.
1937 Sold to Rederi-A/S Nidaros (A/S Krogstads Shipping Agencies Ltd), Oslo. Renamed NIDAROS.
1940 Geo. Hansen became manager.
Nortraship became managers from April.
1946 Sold to Eastern Shipping & Trading Co. Inc., Panama. Renamed EASTERN TRADER.
1948 Sold to Rymo Panama S. A. (Rymo Shipping Co. Ltd), Panama.
1949 The Hong Kong Eastern Shipping Co. Ltd, Panama became manager.
1950 Sold to Great Southern SS. Co. Ltd (Hong Kong), Panama.
1956 Sold to Panamanian Oriental SS. Corp. (Wheelock, Marden & Co. Ltd), Panama. Renamed SANTA DOLORES.
1959 Broken up in 1. quarter by Chung Hing Enterprises, Hong Kong.

Interesting photograph as it reminds me on the Manchester Liners trading into The GreatLakes before the Seaway was opened.
