Old painting for a change. Painting which returned to the market for the second time. Most times isn't the pleasant situation.
The title is “The Window”

size of the painting 30inches x 25inches, oil on canvas

Another older work where I used my friend as the model. He was employee in same shipyard where I worked in Tampa (Florida) and His name was Harvey (Pete) Pettijohn. Peter is not any more between us but always stays as friend. I painted him many times and he loved to be my model. On the painting “ The Window” he is as retired sea captain inside of the tavern close to the docks. He looks at the port through the window and knows that ships and life at sea are memories only. For interior I used a window from tavern in Mystic Seaport Museum grounds. The ship and small cut from port scene it is image of New York Harbor from late 1930’s . Peter is in the same clothes used in other with him paintings. The exception is only my officer's cap.

Thank You very much.My friend always was ready to work with me and be a model for another painting. Many times we worked in corner of cafeteria while others enjoyed lunch. Old good times. Always sad story when painting is returning to the market placed by family of original collector.Hope that I am wrong.
