Any information on this vessel named MARINER would be welcome please. She was at Tortola in the British Virgin Islands in June 1981. Thank you. (The ship in front of her was INGANESS BAY).

Maurice, I think Doug is on to something here. Has a similar profile to the SEA TRANS SURVEYOR (see bottom of this page: http://re-photo.co.uk/?p=2143 ), which is the former PENLEE. She was reported as LLANBERIS between 1977 and 1982, but no mention of MARINER as a former name.

Dear Both,
Many thanks for your helpful information. I cannot be sure, but I reckon that you have almost identified her. In addition to the basics, the number, sizes and positions of all twelve portlights forward of the new structure are identical, the four openings in the ship's side aft match, and there appears to be a gap in the half-round steel fender at the bulwark top just abaft the second last portlight, tallying with the bulwark gate. I wonder however if she may have been the sister ship PELORUS which came from the same shipyard, had the same features and was renamed LLANGOWER. She was latterly owned by a company in the British Virgin Islands where I saw her and that may or may not be relevant. I will let you know if I discover anything else but meantime thanks again and best wishes,
MauriceJ.
