This is not the Shell Trader but the SHELLTRANS, completed 1982 by Valmet Oy Helsing, Telakka Helsinki for Shell A/B Finland, 1986 sold to Shell Tankers Rotterdam, 1994 renamed Acila. 1999 sold to Petromarine as Bacalan. 2001 sold to Desagnes Group Canada and renamed Vega Desagnes.. Apologies,
I took this pic about twenty years ago, and I couldnt quite make out the name, but it looked like Shell Trader. so thats what I wrote on the back of the photo.
I should have checked, sorry.

She would be headed for Stanlow - further up the Canal from Eastham. Always on the Chemical berth. Boarded her many times at Stanlow for pressure testing our discharge lines and other work. She would astern down canal until the "cut" then swing for outward journey. Depending on the wind it could be a hairy moment for the "old man". Very frequent visitor to Stanlow in late 80s early 90s. She was under the Finnish flag then por Helsinki.
