I thought these ships had three Munck Gantry Cranes!
Did they perhaps remove the damaged crane from this ship after the fatal accident in Tilbury.

A good question Ray,
As a rigger I drove those cranes when the ships were at Tilbury.
I cannot recall if one was removed from H R MacMillan following
the accident but from the photo it seems it was removed,
Regards
Stan

Stan and Ray,
Yes No.1 Crane was removed at Tilbury following the fatal accident. I joined as 2nd electrician (my first ship with CP) in Port Alberni in June 1968. She only had 2 Cranes then. Interested to know if and when the missing one was refitted. Sailed on all 3 'wood boats' at one time or another during 10 great years with CP. Probably the best shipping company in the world.
Regards,
Les

Stan/Les,
Thank you for your swift replies.
As Les says, I wonder if No.1 crane was ever refitted?
