OK it's not a 'modern' cruise ship but admin don't seem to have a category for old ones!
This is at Newhaven in the very early 60's. Anyone recognise her?
Astern is the cargo ship Nantes or Rennes and the passenger steamer is the Brighton (VI).

Hi,

should be the HAMMERHUS of Bornholmstrafikken, built 1936 by Burmeister & Wain in Kopenhagen. For detail look at http://www.faktaomfartyg.com/hammershus_1936.htm

She was the ordinary ferry to the danish island Bornholm, you have no other way if you dont wont to take a flymashine,
I have been on this ship plenty of time between Rønne and Copenhagen

This ship gave me my first job as mate. In summer 1963 I had my new ticket in my pocket, and got a summer relieve-job on board. She was built in 1936 by B&W, Copenhagen. Speed was 14 knots. In 1964 she was sold to the Danish Navy and used as support-ship for subs. She ended her life in 1976, but several interior parts as panels etc. are still to be seen on the island, where she belonged for so many years.

She was in Dover Harbour 26 May 1962 alongside Prince of Wales Pier. I never did find out why she was so far from home but assumed she was on a specialist cruise.

Then it's quite possible that this is also from the same 1962 cruise. I can't find any info about a return visit.

A lovely-looking ship and her interiors were very modern and stylish. I'd have loved to have taken a cruise aboard her.
