Though conceived as a cargo vessel, SS Savannah, the first nuclear ship for civilian purposes, was able to carry 60 passengers in very confortable accomodations. She would be operated by American Export Isbrandtsen Lines, from whom I have this brochure

What a beautiful ship, I've heard they are going to paint her in Norfolk to preserve her.

If im not mistaken, she cant be broken up, because of obvious reasons.

Lovely and innovative ship,

Why can't she be broken up? it is fully possible to break up an atomic vessel. As in those years as an American innovation, she was No 2 after the Soviet ship, the LENIN the world's first atomic driven merchant ship of 1959 from Admiralitejskie Verfi of Leningrad. So it is not possible to break up a numer 2 ship ? It must have happened several times in maritime history.
