Chris, sorry to ask, but, the UCL (or any other) liners, had to disembark the passengers to a dock, and go to another for loading?

Most passenger vessels using the London River would embark/disembark passengers at Tilbury Landing stage before proceeding or coming from the enclosed docks for cargo working. A train service from Tilbury to London was available.Although passengers could, and did, join or leave vessels in the docks it would mean longer time spent onboard and no rail/coach service available.
