That's a good shot of the old girl. After derricks topped in readiness, forward derricks to top after pilotage finished. Strangely, though, no house flag visible, just 'H' and the ensign.
I am intrigued by the dark markings on the bridge front on the promenade deck (I think the deck below the navigating bridge was the promenade deck and the deck above the main deck was the bridge deck - but will have to crawl round the attic and see if I still have my old study books - it was all cut and dried as sprog with the ships plans behind glass on the bulkheads)
All very nostalgic, on my first trip on Malakand, we met up with Maidan in Colombo and an old school mate from King James (Bishop Auckland) was sprog on Maidan
