nice clean worksite , also something i've noticed in the years visiting ports all around the states , these boys dont like wearing boiler suits as they do in europe , can anyone ever give a reason for this , also no apprentices on site ,

Donnie, you are right about the boiler suits...cannot explain it. As for apprentices...there are three union Millwright apprentices pictured, their ages are 26, 28 and 38. It seems to be quite normal that they start apprenticeships after they have blown tubes and are ready to start learning....not like us lot who did both at the same time!!!!!

This was actually a Wednesday...the guy taking the picture could not operate his camera and this was about the fourth time he tried...plus it was during lunch hour.

Hydros are good for Marine Engineers, just a big ship going backwards. The white device in the backgound is the new runner hub (propeller hub) for the first unit. Will be fitted with a stub shaft bearing and four controllable pitch blades. All up weight about 145 tons and inserted to fit at a 12 degree angle - three 50 ton chain blocks from a spreader on the crane hook (150 ton SWL)
