Chris....

The port anchor is behind the cab of the truck on the wharf. What you are looking at is the extra hawse pipe that all Bank Line ships had on the port bow for mooring to single point buoys. The port anchor chain could be cut, leaving the port anchor still in the hawse pipe and the chain run out through the extra hawse for mooring purposes.
