I think, this ship is the "Range Sentinel" (T-AGM-22), a 1944 built Victory Class Freighter, this ship was converted to a Missile tracking ship by the US Navy and out of service in 1997, decommissioned in 1999.

Wow, the Kingsport, my dad's old ship, 1969-1970. Supposed to be disguised as a cargo ship, but I don't think anyone was fooled.
