Greetings,

The Rocks, Sydney. You could buy a steak, with salad and a bottle of wine in the bar, go out into the garden and chuck the steak on the "barbie"...all for about $10 AusD per head (at 1986 prices)

The is the Orient Hotel, The Rocks in Sydney but the place for the steaks, cooked by yourself out in the back garden is called "Phillip's Foote", just behind where the photographer was standing. The price is now about $25 and is still the best bargain in town.

Good pub at The Orient too!

It was better in the sixties when Geoff Bull and his jazz band played on a make shift stage in the far corner of the public bar. Spent many a good Saturday arvo in there.

Correct gents, remember going into the place when we docked on the old Oriana at Circular Quay going up to the bar and not having to ask for a schnoor of new as the barmaid remembered.

Now is the hour when we must say good-bye, while I'm away Oh please remember me
