At least you don't have to worry about the voice from below "We've got to stop the engine!"

a joy to see - every sail set!
And I have had the privilege of seeing her and others in the North Sea preway.

Hallo Andi,

Gruss Jan

Your photos are especially valuable to her because, in addition to the fact that her boyfriend was directly involved, she was also constantly involved in contacts during her search as a radio operator at NORDDEICH RADIO.
What about the photos? Copyright or may I use them?

Greetings Jan

Hi all, here in New Zealand the Pamir spent some time around here, I went to sea in the Mid 50's and they were still talking about Her then and there were seaman that had sailed on Her, a bit of a Prize I believe.
The nearest I got to something under sail was the 'Piri'
Cheers
Ewen

Being only a matter of days into my first trip as a deck apprentice, with EDs of Liverpool, I was completely unaware of the danger we were in as we battled 'Carrie' on the old 'Bridgeland Park', now the thirteen year old 'Cambray'. Our skipper ~ Nelson Taylor, honestly, christened name ~ called me to his cabin once we were no longer hove to and explained that despite our proximity to the 'Pamir' we could as well have been the other side of the earth in respect of going to her aid.
