Walked around Yelland in North Devon today looking for any trace of the Servern Sands (my pix Sept 12th) but couldn't find anything. These two hulks near the old tanker terminal. Can't see a name on the blue one.

Southern Beaver built as a dumb hopper barge in Holland as SHM 2 for Shoreham Harbour Trustees, later motorized and renamed.

southern beaver worked in cowes for a while back when they enlarged the yacht haven and moved the red jet pontoon further out, cant really remember the name of the company that owned her but think it was something live civil marine piling or some variation of that, remmber the guy in charge was about 5 foot tall with white hair and glasses and he was constantly changing barge he had his digger on.

Well she was still at Yelland on Saturday (Sept 29 2012) as I took a walk down to Crow Point from Saunton. Expect that plan has been zapped.

Have noticed part of the company name should read Civils not Cilils.
