It's before OOL went to the yellow funnel, which was no later than 1967.

I think you're right about it being Centre Pier in Yokohama. I remember calling there for my first real cargo watch as a very young third mate on the President Jackson in 1966. We were just finishing securing the ship, when 12 gangs of longshoremen descended on the ship and went to work. There were two gangs in every hatch except Number one and Number seven. Cargo was flying every which way, and it was my job to keep the cargo book up to date with free space and cargo discharged and loaded. Let's just say that I failed miserably at my assignment.
