Built as the "Mangocore" in 1965 by Aker's for MF, one of a number owned by them under the Israeli Flag (which I sailed under) and designed in Israel with "enhancement's" which enabled MF to gain a Government Grant, the majority of the rest of the Fleet where owned by numerous Bank's. These vessel's had to be "de-commissioned" before being passed on to their new Owner's.

Terry,
No this photo of Olancho is as described by Chadburn. The one you are thinking of was Chirripo built at Linthouse by Alexander Stephen in 1957 - Second of the class of four - Changuinola, Chirripo, Chicanoa, and Chuscal.
Chirripo was transferred to Empresa Hondurena in 1969 renamed Olancho. Sold to Greek owners in 1972 and renamed Mardina Exporter. Broken up at Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 1974.
This class of Fyffes "Yachts" became victims of the massive rise in fuel costs as result of their steam turbine machinery - For example Chuscal was only 13 years old when scrapped.
