Considering her size and cost, it's surprising that this ship lasted only 16 years. Perhaps the fact that she required half again as many crew members as the newer "Aegis Cruisers" might have had something to do with it.

but look at the size of that bridge! it must rate as one of the longest width bridge within any navy!

The crew complement consisted indeed of 562 men as per a leaflet from the ship received a few days later in Fremantle.

IIRC, these ships were rather costly to run and were retired when they came up for refuelling. Correct me if I'm wrong.
