Think that I prefer the red engine casting on Simplon to the black on La Suisse.

No doubt at all about this. Fuel is to burn in a boiler... not in a cylinder!!!

A steam engine.... the most beautiful 'machine' ever made by man... almost made in nature!

I once spent a four hour cruise round the Eddystone in the WAVERLY... spent hanging over the enginerrom rail for entire time!
